Jumpstarting 214 affordable homes in Murrieta with American Neighborhood Housing

The Challenge: One step short of shovel-ready

Because developers often have to cover all predevelopment costs before they can apply for federal and state support, pulling together early-stage funding can be a major challenge.

Not many banks or investors are willing to step in during those early stages, so American Neighborhood Housing turned to the We Lift Catalyst Fund for support.

The Money: Turning $1.5M into $94.5M

The We Lift Catalyst Fund provided a $1.5 million predevelopment loan to cover the last stretch of Vista Heights’ early-stage costs.

That loan helped American Neighborhood Housing get the project ready to apply for larger federal and state support—turning one small push into the key to unlocking 214 new affordable homes worth over $94.5 million.

The Community: Keeping people home

In an area where high rents are pushing low-income and working families out, Vista Heights helps more people stay in the communities they love—with the support to build long-term stability.
